Trading a kidney for and iPad. Fair enough!

A story reported by the Shanghai Daily tells of a 17 years old student in Huaishan City, China who sold his right kidney for 20,000 yuan ($3000). He was desperate for the new iPad released there and had no other was to get the money.

Now I like my toys as much as the next guy buy not quite sure I'm giving up body parts for them. I might say trade manual labor for a sweet new tech device but not anything internal. The student is now have some issues because the hospital that did the surgery is not authorized to perform them. The parent of the student has call the authorities and its being investigated. Not really sure if I would want the kidney back.
